Fr. Ivan Simko
The church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1912 under the direction of Fr. Achille Delaere, C.Ss.R. and under the foremanship of a Mr. F. Novakowski. This church was blessed by Blessed Bishop Nykyta Budka in 1913 and decorated in 1936 by artist, Paul Zabolotny.
This historic church is dominated by a massive dome of a striking design and has been beautifully upgraded throughout the years with new windows, siding, and shingling. It continues to be lovingly cared for by its congregation and is served a number of times a year by clergy from Canora.
