Pastoral Administrator

Fr. Basil Malowany

History

Ukrainian settlers arrived in the area around Calder in 1897 and constructed a small church on a parcel of land donated by Stephan and Euphrosinia Androniak. A larger church was built on this site in 1911.
In 1966, the parish moved into town. A beautiful new church was built through the generous efforts of the parish community and was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roborecki in 1974.
This area was served in its early days by the missionary, Fr. Achille Delaere, C.Ss.R. and the area continued to be served by the Redemptorist Fathers until 2023, when the Redemptorists withdrew from the area. Since then the parish has been cared for by clergy from Our Lady of Perpetual Help (St. Mary’s) in Yorkton.
