History

The first Ukrainians had arrived in this area in 1904. The church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit at Orolow was built in 1910 on land donated by Stephan Tesluik.
The community had cared for their church over the years and embellished it. In 1948, growth in the community was such that they needed to expand the church. A bell tower and hall was built on the property shortly afterward in 1950 and 1953 respectively. In 1988, the church was redecorated and washrooms were constructed on the property in 1994.
The church at Orolow is cared for by clergy from the North Battleford-Hafford district.
