History

The first Ukrainian settlers arrived in the Krydor area in 1905 and within a few years after they had built a small church dedicated to St. Demetrius on land donated by Oleksa Worobetz. Bishop Blessed Nykyta Budka visited the parish in 1919.
The present church was built in 1948 to replace this structure, which was dismantled a few years later to construct a rectory in the town. Bishop Andrew Roberecki blessed the new church in the year of its construction and dedicated it to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Beside the church stands an impressive stone belfry built in 1971.
The church at Krydor is cared for by clergy from the North Battleford-Hafford district.
