The church of Ss. Peter and Paul was built in the community of Speers in 1956 to replace an earlier structure which had been acquired by the community. The construction project was made possible through the generosity of the local Ukrainian Catholic community who funded the project and provided labour. The church of Ss. Peter and Paul was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roboreci in 1964.
The church at Speers is cared for by clergy from the North Battleford & Hafford district.
