History

Ukrainian settlers arrived in the Calder area in 1897 and constructed a small church on a parcel of land donated by Stephan and Euphrosinia Androniak. A larger church was built on this site in 1911.

In 1966, the parish moved into the town of Calder. A beautiful new church was constructed through the generous efforts of the parish community and was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roborecki in 1974.

In its early days, the area was served by the missionary Fr. Achille Delaere, C.Ss.R., and continued to be cared for by the Redemptorist Fathers until 2023, when they withdrew from the area. Since that time, the parish has been served by clergy from Our Lady of Perpetual Help (St. Mary’s) Parish in Yorkton.
