The church of the Descent of the Holy Ghost was built in 1913 on a small parcel of land south of Candiac. This property was donated by Ivan Kotyliuk. The parish was visited by Blessed Bishop Nykyta Budka in 1917 and 1922.
The church was beautifully decorated by Havrylo Wasyliw in 1918, during the pastorate of Rev. Kaluzniacki. The church retains this lovely original decorative scheme. Land for the church and cemetery site was donated by Ivan Kotyliuk.
