History

The first settlers in this area attended St. Michael’s Church at Wishart Farms until a site was donated by a Nykola Syrota for the construction of the church. By 1924 a small church had been built and a cemetery organized. The cemetery was blessed by Blessed Bishop Nykyta Budka in 1926. The church was blessed by his successor, Bishop Basil Ladyka, in 1932.
By 1950 the community had outgrown their church, and the decision was made to build a newer and larger structure. The old building was sold to the new parish at Foam Lake, and the present church was finished by 1952. It was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roborecki in 1960. The church is beautifully cared for by its devoted congregation.
The parish is served by clergy from Wynyard.
