History

The people of Lanigan purchased their first church from the nearby parish of Wolverine in 1952. It was moved to the present church site north of the town of Lanigan in that year. It is noteworthy for its beautiful iconostasis constructed in 1929 by Zakhariy Polos.
Ukrainian settlement in this region began in 1905 and until 1952 the people attended the parish of Wolverine.
The parish is served by clergy from Wynyard.
