History

A log-and-clay church was built in 1906 by the first Ukrainian settlers of the area on land blessed by the Basilian missionary, Fr. Sozont Dydyk, O.S.B.M. In 1918, this simple structure was converted into a parish hall, and a more substantial domed church was constructed. This church stood until 1964, when it was tragically destroyed by lightning. The community came together to build the present structure, which was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roborecki in 1974.

The church continues to be lovingly maintained by its community.

The parish of Borshchiv is cared for by Dormition of the Mother of God Parish in Saskatoon.
