History

Ukrainian settlement in this area began in 1905 and within a few years the people constructed their first church in 1909. This church was dedicated to St. Stephen. As the community grew, the need for a larger church quickly became apparent. In 1928, the present church was built and dedicated to St. Nicholas. It has been lovingly maintained over the last century with some major upgrades to roof, windows, and its exterior.
The church at Uhrynow is cared for by clergy from the North Battleford & Hafford district.
