Fr. Andre Lalach
The church of the Sacred Heart at Vonda was built between in 1943 and was blessed by Bishop Andrew Roborecki on June 24, 1951. The first Ukrainian settlers had arrived in the area as early as 1904. These and their descendants worshipped in the rural parishes around Vonda, namely Smuts, to the northwest, and Borshchiv, to the southeast, until the church in Vonda was built.
Vonda is beautifully maintained and used weekly. Services are held daily by the monks of the Hermitage of the Three Holy Hierarchs.
The parish is cared for by the parish of Dormition in Saskatoon.
